Gladys is a small, unincorporated community in Campbell County. It is very rural in character and still has family farms that have been in operation for generations. It is also home to Shady Grove, which is a historic home built in 1825, and is a 1 1/2-story, brick Federal-style farmhouse with a gable roof. The house was built by Paulina Cabell Henry on land inherited from her father, Dr. George Cabell of Point of Honor, Lynchburg, Virginia. Shady Grove is now a private residence and working farm.
